Hi chaps...

Having driven 3 enduros so far and now being on a sportsbike, i kinda miss them.

So....

Should i get a Supermoto?

Thinking along the lines of a DR-Z or CCM. Wouldn't mind converting a WR400 but can't be arsed!

I hardly make long journeys, enjoy pulling wheelies and having that extra element of low-speed control which enduro/sm bikes give.

Persuade me further!

Thanks

The Blink-meister.

I miss big singles myself.

I quite fancy getting another XBR500 and making it a 650 special, and getting the 710 big bore kit and fit the same open pipes i had before!

I think any supermoto is better than no supermoto too, thats one of the reasons why im converting my 1988 kmx200 into one.
As for what bike you should get, well it does depend on what you want to do with it, and how far you ride, and how practical it needs to be. The DRZ might be ok, the CCM im not sure about, as they seem to perform well thanks to the Rotax motor, but the build quality is known to be a bit suspect.
The really focused Supermoto's like the Husqvarna's, KTM's and Husabergs, arnt really very good as pure road bikes IMO. I think it would be cheaper, more practical and fun to convert a road legal/ biased trailie into a supermoto, like a say a Honda XR400/650, or XT600, KLR650 etc. These bikes would be far better and more practical as a daily commuter bike, than an almost race ready KTM etc.

Or you could do what i still want to do, but arnt quite yet mad enough to do, in buying an old KX500 and making a nutter bastard SM bike, very non sensible though, and i think i could have enough fun on a kmx for longer before falling off or crashing than i would on a big KX monster!
