Folks,
I'm buying a 1999 Suzuki GS500e this evening. Problem is, the battery is dead. I need to jump the bike but I have no idea how to get at the battery. Is it under the seat? If so, does anyone know how to pop the seat open to get at it?

Also, is it safe to jump the motorcycle using another motorcycle battery?

Thanks all for your help.

I'd look along the sides of the bike for a keyhole as this will most likely be there to let you take the seat off.

As for jump starting a bike, its the same procedure as a car. Any 12 volt lead acid battery will do whether its car bike or whatever. Larger car or truck batteries are best as the more current the merrier.

You can jumpstart off a bike , just make sure its running and the bike has a few revs on.

its straight under the seat, looking at ya, they are a good bike to buy as a newbie or born again, or just a cheap runabout, they have not changed hardly since the begining of time, if you want help, its time for the www.gs500e.co.uk plug Very Happy , and as you can see, i still come back here

there is a lock at the side of it
