Saw these at the NEC and thought "fun but never in production"

seems I might have been wrong.

Imagine trials meets supermoto meets BMX

They look damn cool but I'm wondering where you'd ride it? You wouldn't be able to ride it on the pavement or in skateparks because it's got an engine.

If I was going to get something like that I think I'd just get a CR80 or something similar.

They do look damn cool though Cool.

looks like a road legal trials bike- looks like it would be fun in a car park, but not much use elsewhere.... maybe a fun city commuter.

I still want a go like Very Happy

They are road legal.

Would make an excellent city commuter. Suppose it could be used for green laning. Probally excellent in a disused quarry.

I want one but can't afford one.

It's a 250 4 stroke.

Weight is similar to a 250 2stroke mx bike, but a whole load less power.

Dimensions were fairly similar I think.

So I'm sure you could make something similar, but better for a lot less and only a bit of work.

If it weighed 20-40kg less it would have been a bit more interesting.

(Yes, I know there was some vids of people doing stupid things on 'em, but I wonder if they could do the same on mx bikes anyway?)

No way G, they are *tiny*.

Those two guys are japanese and so probably about my height.

Remember that motocrossers are huge bar-stewards and they have off-road tyres and weedy off road brakes...

Well, I for one will be saving my pennies for one! Smile

[edit] that was my weird stomach illness talking - I don't really want one. Maybe a Beta Alp 350 supermoto... Laughing [edit]

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

you couldnt do some of those tricks on an MX bike, at least not a 2stroke machine anyway. Yes there was some skill shown there, but i cant help thinking everything they did would be eaiser, faster and more fun on a Trials bike.
Give me a GasGas 320TXT with a lighting kit anyday!

I've been thinking about what it'd be like making a trial bike road legal and fitting it with supermoto tyres...
This is pretty much what I imagined, only a trial is less realistic because of the saddle. I reckon its more powerfull though...

Very much doubt it has more torque, 2 stroke mx engines tend to have more torque - why they run a 450cc 4stroke against a 250cc 2 stroke.

As we're talking mx engine, I wouldn't be suprised if the 2 stroke actually has as broad a range of more torque as well Smile.

Have you tried a 250mx bike vs the 4 stroke 250s I believe you have ridden? They bite.
