New Arai RV Lid

I bought a new lid before my latest trip around the Baltic States and Eastern Europe.

What a disappointment - it was loud, EXTREMELY loud even with ear plugs, the visor misted up at the first sign of damp air, raindrops hit my face even with visor shut.

Give me my Shoei back any day. I have emailed Arai and their response was crap.

I am thoroughly disappointed :cry:

Even though i have an Arai SV, there are almost the same and i am happy with it, but then i only go 70 mph Razz

Arais have never been very good for noise.

The trouble is, the noise experienced in a lid is more dependent on the customers head shape than safety is.

So in actual fact it is very hard to make a quiet lid. The best way would be to add some sort of built in ear defenders. No doubt this would compromise the safety of the lid though - I imagine it would certainly affect all important looks!

The best lid I ever had for noise was my Roof Daytona and even that wasn't great TBH.

Noise isn't something that Arai make claims about as a selling point so I would be surprised if you *did* get a reaction from them!
