question about swapping engine

i have the chance to buy an engine from a stolen and recovered bike, do i need to be aware of anything or can i just take the old and fit the new one in?

what about the MOT?

by the way it's a 125 scoot

There will not be any problems regarding the MOT, they do not check the engine or frame numbers.

I would have thought that you will need to notify the DVLA about the engine swap so that they can change the engine number on the V5, there may be more information on their website.

i had a look but couldn't see anything regarding engine swapping.

Hi

You will need to tell the DVLA, assuming that your registration document has it specified (it doesn't always).
