Well it's up for sale on an auction on MCN:
https://auctions.motorcyclenews.com/item_details.asp?itemid=742

£21,000 at the moment.

This genuine piece of motorcycling history was number 002 of only 202 homologation specials produced by Ducati during the 1998 season in order to make the airbox modifications to the 916 Carl was riding in the 1998 World Superbike championship, one of four world titles he won in this class. Number 001 is in a Ducati museum and this 002 was presented to Carl for his services to Ducati. The other 200 bikes went on sale to the public at £21,000.

The bike has stood in his home office in Blackburn ever since and has never turned a wheel. Carl's Foggy PETRONAS Racing World Superbike team will strip the bike down and rebuild to full working order before obtaining an MoT for the bike. The registration number (S3 FOG) is included in the sale.

I know the proceeds are going to charity - which is good, but personally I wouldn't want anything owned by that loud mouth self publicising twat...
After the comments he made when Barry Sheene died I have no respect for him at all.

Usual Foggy bullshit, "well yes he was a good racer but he wouldn't have done so well against me, and I'm a bigger legend (in my own lunchtime)".

The exact quote:
Carl Fogarty, four-time World Superbike champion, said Sheene had been "an inspiration to millions".

"There were other world champions from Britain who achieved more on the track but he brought it to the public attention."

--------------
"other world champions from Britain who achieved more" - wanker

Either way, it's not necessarily the sort of stat. you'd bring up when someone dies. Asked for a kind word following a sad death, and his rection is "I'm better than he was". Wasn't overly surprised, it has to be said. Foggy's bikes were always great, as was his ability to ride them. His personality was never the winner......

another piece of garbafge he comes out with is saying he is and was better than rossi ever will be....

...never saw him in GP winning every year on inferior machines to the opposition. never would foggy EVER beat rossi. he was good, i wish he would just accept he was good (maybe very very good) but not the best.

and what stupid things to say when someone dies.

Paul

Ever read Foggys autobiography? I'm surprised they managed to fit his ego between the covers. One of my faves was where he was bragging that, if he and Lord Baz were walking down the street together, he would be getting all the attention.
As for Foggy v Rossi.....what a laugh! Put The Doctor on a C90 step-through and he would still show Foggy a clean pair of heels. Foggy isn't worth the flies of Rossi's visor.

Foggy was a great racer, nothing can take away that fact, he may have a big ego and a loud mouth but he was still a world champion.

Excellent, I'd agree with that!

Also how come when he lost it was never his fault, it was the tyres, the bike, the weather etc, etc.

And I seem to remember a certain person switching to Honda when he was struggling, only then he struggled even more...

I bought a copy of his book, even had the great man sign it, then I read it and went right off him, I've never seen a bigger ego.

I have a lot of respect for Foggy, personally. Just because he believes in himself and has the balls to tell people what he actually thinks he gets berated. He's obviously a very passionate bloke. The world would be a very boring place if everyone kept their opinions to themselves.

Yeah, maybe, although I don't think that ten years ago Superbikes was the poor relation to GPs that it is today.

Errr... he went to Honda from Ducati as World Champion, so he couldn't have been struggling that much. He then finished 4th in the Championship with Honda (although only 38 points from the winner).

There is a thin line between 'passionate bloke' and 'loudmouthed twat'.
Foggy crossed it many times.
