Depends how much money you have.
Personally I would get a 125, then go in for my test when I have some experience and ncb.

experience and ncb are a matter of opinion,

ncb has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on whether or not he should do his test (unless immediatly after passing he rushes out and buys a busa)

and with experience comes bad habits which can be very difficult to break, I personally ride nothing like "the instructors" say you have to and i haven't had(or caused) an accident in 7 years of riding,, but i have my das in 2 weeks and have spent the last 3 weeks trying to ride the way they will want me to and i always end up reverting to my own prefered way (subconciously) which may well cause me to fail on the day..

sooooo for that reason i say do your test A.S.A.P while your still fresh enough to have the correct way drilled into you Laughing

Do your CBT, get a 125 and ride that until you're comfortable riding it and then do your test.

How long you keep the 125 for depends on how you get on, look after the 125 well and then sell it for near to what you paid. Smile

zxr400er ont his forum did his test stright away, hes got a zxr and he loves it. like 2t screamer said, u ride for experiance but u pick up bad habits, i know i have and im only on a 50 and been riding 6 months, ive started reverting to riding properly again just to get intoa better habit and as soon as a pass my test it will all go out the window and ill ride like a looney again.
