You think thats rough, that ain't rough! Camping rough means no tent! You can only do it in the summer, but the stars above your head as you sleep, and then waking to the sun on your face, is a totally different experience to being in a tent.

Good pics and write up of your trip by the way, im planning something similar around Wales when i get fired in a couple of weeks, so i'll try to make a post about it when i do

Zen Dog

P.S. I do use tents too, im not some kind of ultra-manly only-rough-camping elitist!

the best roads are in scotland and especiallly the highlands.
the garve to ullapool road and the invermoriston to kyle roads are my favourite. the golspie to thurso road used to be brill too, but they are straightening all the lovely hairpins, so thats it knackered.
a good trip to do is the lochinver and right round the top. see some beautiful scenery there.
i am very lucky as i have all these roads very close to me.

Good post boys.

Going in two weeks. Lovely.

Good to see you got there in one day, makes the plan of getting there in two days in a rather more comfortable vehicle sound reasonable.

I'd like a sports rack.

Have everything else.

I have at time contemplated going on the SV, but those thoughts never last.

That was an excellent read lads. Well Done!

It makes me yearn for more touring though. At least it also inspires.

Good Stuff, we want to hear of more adventures!

If anyones planning a rideout up by Inverness, Why not pop into BRC Motorcycles up in muir of ord - Only 15mins outside of Inverness!

Go over the Kessock bridge outside Inverness, continue until the tore roundabout, head towards muir of ord, past a woodmill on your left, and turn left towards an industrial esate (lots of trees on that junction with a little pond next to it) go through the estate until you get to the 'Great North Road', turn left and along by the JCB garage, youll see the shop, next to a scrapyard. (closed sundays and mondays btw!!) And if you get to Beuly youve went too far!

My stepdad (Malcs) and Sparks took over this shop back in January this year and all seems to be going well! (I might be there too as i usually give them a hand)

Free tea and coffee if you ask Thumbs Up Razz
