it was a really good turn out

Indeed it was, and not any trouble. Everyone behaved impeccably. The marshalls kept the parking under control and the traffic flowing. The burger van sold hundreds of cups of tea and cans of coke and the police could only offer a written statement to Midlands Today declaring that the meet was "an accident waiting to happen".

Thumbs Up to everyone that went and acted sensibly.

Apparently on Midlands Today the report was really good (says the Mother Wink )

It was broadcast live and they had interviews with the Landlady who said "I didn't invite any of these, but it's lovely to see their support" (obviously had legal advice), some local residents who said they were having a wonderful evening with their family (small happy children included) a couple of bikers, who were very well spoken (I believe one of them is actually a solicitor).

The only group who refused to be filmed were the police whose statement was read as being "The meet is an accident waiting to happen", followed by a pan of the road looking quiet and safe and a thousand or so bikers milling around the car park quietly enjoying themselves.

Mother said it made the Police look like complete fools.

From MCN - a resident in Hilton has posted saying thank you to everyone who waved at my daughter Gemma (the girl on the back of the pick up truck) it was great to see you all and we thoroughly support Gloria, the Landlady. Best of Luck.

Hi

Tried to find BRMB on the way to work this morning (took the car) but landed up listening to Radio WM. That had a piece on the West Midlands police which had the odd dig at the police for their persecution of bikers at The Wheel.

Hopefully the landlady will get her licence back. Unfortunatly I suspect the court will totally ignore the petition as there are no addresses on it.

All the best

Keith

Quite funny how police have said local residents have been complaining, yet they were out to support the pub!!!! Shocked Shocked

Hi

The Wheel is back open:-

https://www.bbc.co.uk/shropshire/content/articles/2005/06/30/features_worfield_bikers_feature.shtml

Subject to a few minor restrictions.

Note this paragraph:-

Quote:
He pointed out bikes parked all the way down the grass verge in front of the pub, four stewards managing traffic and cars having to take care as they travelled down the busy main road from Bridgnorth to Wolverhampton to avoid the bikers visiting the pub.

Cannot say I saw any bikes parked on the verge that night, so seems like he was being inventive in his evidence. Any, wow, the drivers had to drive with care and attention.

All the best

Keith

Hi

I suspect that is a bit of a nasty one. I suspect they do not expect them to restrict the numbers, or stop people parking on the roads (there is no way the pub could do either, as if people are off there property then they have no power at all over them), and will use it as an excuse to get nasty again in the future.

All the best

Keith

So how do I know the BCF lot, anyone I can meet on the way, or maybe PM your pic or bike pic.

R4nger will probably be able to find a way that us 3 could ride up together, but if not look for a green/blue GS500 along with a black one with Green "NoFear" stickers on the side and "NoFear" eyes above the brake light Wink
