NSR Help

Hey all,

Well my mate broke my cogs inside my clutch casing which I fixed today, by buying a new casing with new cogs, cus my clutch lever thing thats outside the bike was too far forward as well.

Anyways... New problem.

Went around the bloke, ok everything fine, topped the gear oil up again, went around again everything fine...

Topped it up again, went round... oh dear..

The temp guage was on red, and i checked the coolant its full, but it doesn't seem to be moving at all in the bike.

I was wondering could it be the gasket that goes round the water pump. Cus on the new case its shagged and when i stopped it was leaking their. So it wouldn't have any pressure to pull the coolant down.

Or Could it be this or something else?

I dont think the gasket will cause it to overheat like that unless the coolant is pouring out. Check its not leaking into your gearbox oil also.

Sounds to me like one of the cogs in your clutch casing that drives the waterpump is either out of sync with the other cogs, or broken.

The only other thing it can be which is highly doubtful unless you messed with the coolant is an air bubble in the cooling system... If this is the case you need to work the air out by either draining it via the coolant drain screw, or try squeezing the coolant tubes as you rock the bike from side to side, this has worked for me in the past.

i know what your problem is. Your 2 stroke oil pump is freaked. without 2 stroke oil you bikes temp will hit red! Its very rare for a waterpump to stop working on an NSR.

My oil pump stopped working on my old NS125F and it hit the red temp

Fixed it...

Wasn't the cogs, started bike up with case off to see if it moved it does fine.

It was two things...

1. Gasket (so no pressure)
2. Air inside the tubing

All fixed now
