Hi

Basically you are limited to green lanes. These are essentially roads that were never tarmaced, but legally are still roads.

Try https://www.trf.org.uk/ for more info, and probably some local people to ride with.

All the best

Keith

Right of ways.

Not bridleways or anything else.

just a spot of common sense advice; switch off your engine and pull over over when you see horses, and smile and be polite to ramblers.

You'll find most walkers will sneer at you, but if your pleasant to them, they find it hard to be nasty back.

Just remember they're trying to ban it, so play nice!

Oh, and have fun! Thumbs Up

If you visit your local council office they are obligated (begrudgingly) to provide you on request a local green lane map detailing Your local green lanes and any local bylaws regards specific green lanes.

Hi Froggy_girl128

Do everyone who uses these routes a favour by not making ruts any worse than they are, it is a pain for all who use them. Thumbs Up

I ride and I also drive Land Rovers off road, 4x4's have been blamed for ruining green lanes, Land Rovers do not make 2 foot deep ruts on bends, neither do horses,

avoid altercations with other uses and remember not all 4x4 drivers are bikers and they drive bigger vehicles, meet them coming the other way and the bigger vehicle will still be driving home.

Act responsibly and the byways will be ours forever to play in.

Have Fun Smile

Lee
