Hi , im new to bcf, but am a toal bike-nut Smile

I drive a TDR 125 and love the bike , but lately i've been hearing some rattling from the engine Confused

I was told it could be the bearings? but am not sure.
It tends to happen between 4 and 7k revs during acceleration.

I'll admit i've been trying wheelies lately
which may b the cause, i also tend to drive at high revs ( but never redline it).

I'd really appreciate any ideas as to what this is and what i can do to fix it . Please , its driving me nuts Sad

Cheers

I would just say dont leave a rattling 2stroke for too long without having a look at it. How many miles has it done? And can you describe the noise and where it's coming from, i.e the top of the engine, the crankcases, clutch cover etc. Do you feel vibration through the footpegs or any other areas?
When a 2stroke gets noisy its a good time to get ready for a re-build, as if you keep running it, it could result in a dramatic engine failure that is likely to cost far more to repair than it would otherwise. You have been warned!

Ye i'm gona get it serviced 2morow. I just hope they dont rip me off.

Not sure where the rattling is coming from, but seems to be near the clutch cover. it sounds like something loose inside the engine
( piston rings? ) . I wish i new more about 2 stroke engines .

Can any1 recommend a website or book where i can learn more about engines.

I'd really like to be able to servive my bike. Thinking

I do like t drive the bike hard, and if shit starts to happen every time i do then i might have to go for a faster bike. (like CBR 250 )

Thanks for ur help Smile
