Hey guys, looking for a few pointers.
It's been pissing down rain here and tomorrow looks like I have no choice but to take a quick 10 minute ride to work instead of the usual car option.
What Im looking for are any pointers as to how to keep dry.
I have a water proof jacket and so called water proof boots, but no rain resistant pants.
As this is my first rain expedition, Im kinda curious as to whether or not the water tends to go down the back of your neck or follow the draught up the helmet??
Any suggestions or nifty hints you may have for riding in the wet would be greatly appreciated.
Obviously I will be throwing my work pants into a plastic bag in a back pack just in case. Don't fancy chillin my arse off in the A/C at work all day. The ride home ...well who gives a shit . A nice warm shower when I get in will do the trick.

Youll find your knees, shins and the lower part of your thighs will get very wet, very quickly. Helmet and jacket normally stops most from hitting your neck etc. Just watch for the visor steaming up at slow speeds.

I advise you get some water proof trousers! They have proved invaluable to me over the past few months Thumbs Up

Neither. You tend to find your back is totally dry and a full-face helmet just sort of deflects the rain around itself (and up the inside of the visor so you can't see Rolling Eyes .

Waterproof trousers are a must. You never feel truly wet on a bike until that first icy finger of cold water soaks through the crotch of your trousers and hits your scrotum. Before that point you feel 'Damp, but I'll dry if the sun comes out for a bit.' after that, there are no bones about it, you are fecking soaking and require the services of a hot shower and change of clothes.

Army surplus shops do Dutch army gore-tex trousers. They are really heavy duty and my last pair only cost me £25 from the stall on my local car boot sale. Get really big ones you can pull over everything, they have elastic cuffs so being too long in the leg doesn't really matter.

Knees and crotch get it first, closely followed by fingertips, elbows and a small patch in the middle of your chest where there is an invisible leak in your waterproof jacket (they are standard EU fitment to all waterproof clothing).

When it starts running up the inside of the cuffs on your waterproof trousers then down your legs and starts filling your boots, you know you are riding in PROPER rain. I only had this once at Capel Curig in North Wales a few years ago during the wettest February on record.
