Put me right on a few points will please buddy. I noticed you only pay £750 TPFT for your insurance. Thats fucking brilliant for an SV. How did you manage it at 18!? Am i right in thinking youve got 2 years no claims bonus and told them it would be restricted to 33-brek-hos?
Also mate, which insurance company is it with. The quotes ive been getting are enough to give my arse an headache!

Cheers

(Sorry for crashing in like this)

I've noticed that factors like location and age of bike make a huge difference to the insurance price, as well as your age of course...

From what I have gathered, a two-year old CBR600 costs half as much to insure as a brand new one...also, if I moved over to Hertfordshire (from Bristol), then my current premium will halve as well!

Just my thoughts...

hmm, have you had a few "scrapes" in your time?...or is surrey just an expensive to insure area?...I just did a sample insurance quote, and it would "only" cost me £2k for fully comp insurance on a new R6...and I'm only 21!

Dunno if its worth me replying now james Smile but i might as well

There was no one more suprised than me when i got that quote. I didn't phone round for em i got my mam to do it while i were at work. I wrote everythin down on a piece of paper but didn't write Third party only. So when i got home and had a list of quotes to flick though (cheers mam). But i didn't know that all that time she had been asking for TPFT so i were over the moon at £750.

I've got 1 years no claims and a 33bhp restriction certificate. As annoying it is phoning round its well worth doin (or well worth gettin someone else to do it for ya)

Good point about checking what the excess figure is on a policy, as what seems like a good qoute can have a stupid excess on the policy. My zx6r cost me £1145FC last year with 1NCB, and im 24 living in Worcestershire, which i think is a fairly low risk area. The thing is my excess was £650! last year, just glad i didnt drop it. Im paying £600FC this yr with 2NCB, and my excess has dropped a bit to £500. im happy with the quote, but the excess still seems way too high for my liking!

Yeah.. rung around and got a few cheaper quotes but they all have crazy excess's on em! Got a quote from zenith for £1800 but that was £600xs non-negotiable and they wont let me pay in installments.. next one was £2200 with £250xs.. bit better but as I only have £100xs atm not really gonna save loads.. Crying or Very sad
