Vin Tag On The Frame.....Can It Be Replaced

After i got my bike back from being stolen i noticed the vin tag that goes at the top of the frame had been pulled off.

Can i get one of these back? If so how? the frame number is still on the bike

The bike is an Aprilia RS 125

Apparantly, you don't necessarily need one.

I have a ZXR4 with what appears to be a missing VIN plate on the top of the frame, near the headstock and queried whether or not it needed replacing.

I was told that not all vehicles have them anyway, especially before a certain year (don't know which though).

I would check with your local garage, they should be able to tell you if it needs one or not.

the VIN number should be engraved some were else on the frame (most bikes have them near the headstock)

You don't have to have the plate aswell as the number on the headstock. You don't actually need a frame number legally unless the bike was registered after August '99.

Hi

I need one for my Bandit as it got scuffed up the 2nd time the frame was powder coated. Asked the dealer about a week ago and they said they could get them easily. Hopefully Aprilia are the same.
