OK, I'm going down to London tomorrow night and staying at a place near London Bridge.

Is there anywhere round there I can leave my bike safely overnight? I've found a map of parking spots for bikes in London, but none of them say whether you can leave the bike overnight or not. Hmm. Confused

Taken from the City of London website:

Quote:
On street
Motorcycles should be parked wholly within the bay
Motorcycles should not be left for more than 24 hours in a bay
If a bay is suspended overnight and a motorcycle is parked there, it is liable to be removed in the morning

Car parks
Motorcycles must be parked in designated bays
Motorcyclists are requested to take care at car park entries and exits and allow other vehicles to go first

Also check out NCP. They charge £3 a day for bikes, manned 24hr, so should be safe in one of them!

I'd say you can never be too careful in London with bikes! As I live in London I always hear about peoples bike gettin stolen... So;

Arrow I'd advise using a motorcycle bay with a grabrail to indefinately lock your bike to with a STRONG chain.
Arrow Try to find a bay with other motorcycles in it (preferrably nicer than yours, jokes! Rolling Eyes )
Arrow As LH-ER5 said NCP sounds like a good idea!
Arrow Make sure its near to where your staying.

As for the duration a motorcycle should be parked in the bay for, there should be a sign above the bay indicating these times! If it says "DO NOT LEAVE MOTORCYCLE OVERNIGHT" then I strongly advise not to do so.

I can't indicate where any bays are but you should find them all over the place, I new investment in stopping crime so they'll be everywhere! and Good luck, your girl should be alright!! lol
