can somebody tell me what tyre pressures I should have on my cbr?

my mate thought he'd blow his tyres up on his car, he didn't know what pressure so looked at the tyre and blew them up to their maximum pressure- around 48psi! Shocked

if that's not bad enough he then went on to say that it would handle better as he'd have more grip! Rolling Eyes

pssssshhhhhht, psssssssshht, pshhhhhhht, pshhhhhhhht.. there you go, maybe you wont kill yourself now! Mr. Green

on my bandit 400 rear is 35psi front 31psi, manual says i should use 2psi less than this but it feels too soft.
