I find it's quite easy to stick to speed limits because I like my clean licence the way it is. I don't get too phased by people trying to make me go faster or people trying to race me and other such stuff.

EDIT:Forgot to mention I live in North Wales where Richard Brunstrom is putting scamera's and arrive alive vans everywhere so it'd be really easy to get caught speeding.

Around town and the such, I'll stay to limits and ride very carefully. Dont fancy being in an accident or even points on my license for one reason or another. Will go that bit quicker on the roads which I know are safe to do so. Thumbs Up

During my work commute, I wont be speeding, so that could be seen as a journey staying at the speed limit. Smile

I'll go as fast as it feels safe to do so...

"Safe" being defined with:
Arrow Visibility - How far ahead can I see? Can I see sideroads etc?
Arrow Road Conditions - Is the road wide, narrow, dually, slippery - what's coming up next?
Arrow Other Vehicles - Have they seen me? Can I overtake? Are they going to pull out on me?
Arrow Chances of being caught speeding

Craig

I'm the same as Craggles (pattern emerging here), I keep a reasonably strict eye on my speed through built up areas though, i.e. 30s, 40s, 50s are usually obeyed. Excessive speeding on the bypasses is a no-no for me as well.

You want to try keeping a busa down below the national speed limit (it just wanted to fly).

In my car I've got no choice, it can't break the speed limit on a motorway (damn 20yo diesels, but hey can do 500 miles to £30). On the R6, I usually ride at the speed that is safe for the situation.

Since my other half got pulled for speeding the other day I've tried to stick to the speed limit more. It's very difficult to stick to 70 on an empty dual carriageway Sad

I stick as close to 30 as I can in 30s - unless it's one of those rediculous roads which really should be a 40 - I find it difficult...the bike doesn't go slower than 40...officer...

I was stopped for 78 in a 60 but the plod actually said he would just give me a warning because in his opinion it was safe to do so. There wasn't another car on the road and it was a nice long straight duel carriageway.
I also spent the weekend riding with a group that included one copper and an advanced riding instructor. I just about managed to stay with them and I'm no slouch.
There is such a thing as fast and safe.
