What is the large, rectangular metal box under the sump, which looks as though the exhaust runs through it? Confused

Catch Pan indeed! Can't be going and dropping any oils on the track!

The exhaust is tucked in on the right hand side of it.

See, fully faired bikes naturally have a belly pan, which on race bikes is fully closed, no large gap in the bottom for exhaust pipes. But not being faired, the CB has to have a pan bolted to it, ugly, but practical!

Yeah, I've seen those, they are funy!

Saw one guy with a hornet belly pan, looked smooth! But not sure if it was contributing to aerodynamics, bet it was, cheating ghet! Cool
