!training! please vote! i need some help!

Hello all,
After speaking to the local training school i had an idea that in my opinion might help me, but before going ahead with it i wanted to ask other peoples views.

I am 16 at the moment and am hoping to take my full (restricted) license in November this year. I have a 50 cc motorbike and have been riding for 6 months. My riding ability is quite good, i can do U-turns and figure of eights easily.
The thing i feel i would fail on in a test would be the safety checking side of it. I do have my own little routine but it may not be the correct way to ride.
The idea i had was to get a bit of training in being shown when to safety check and the correct way of riding (safety wise) then in the next few months I could get into a habit so it will be natural when i come to my test. I would then take another lesson closer to my birthday.

My reasons.
1. It will make my current riding safer.
2. It will give me less to worry about when it comes to my test because it will not be new to me.
3. Gives me time to practise at it.
4. Will cost me no more money.

If you have any opinions on this that could help me decide they will be much appreciated. Please vote!
