Not sure if you remember the thread I made about having a spluttering problem between 4.5K and 5.5K on my NC30, anyways I was cleaning the bike for a few hours on Friday and thought id take the plugs out, they seemed ok, so I put it back in, used a tool to screw them finger tight and then it obviously requires about one turn to make it seal.
Well I did this on one of the plugs but it felt loose. The thing won’t tighten!
This I can imagine would make a difference for compression, but I have no idea what I can do about this, I’m 95% sure I ddint do this as I know exactly how to put one in.

Any help

Have you cross threaded it? Might need to be rethreaded if that's the case? Not sure though Confused

Aye, sounds like you've threadded it...

Wait a few weeks.... cos if you do lose your licence, then EDBANGER can buy your bike off you a bit cheaper!! Wink Laughing









More seriously, take the plug out again and check the threads. If that's the problem, depending on the damage, could be a case of a new plug.

Did you just give it a full turn straight away? You should only give them a 1/4 turn off finger tight to seal with a compression washer. Sounds like you have stripped the thread. You would need to have a look, if you have you need to take the head off and a fit helicoil kit.

You should be able to get a mobile guy out to helecoil it he might be able to do it in situ
