Grr, Setting off from work, I rolled the bike backwards only to meet some resistance. Like a c*nt, I thought i'd just rolled over a painted line or a pothole or something, and tried again. When I met some resistance the second time, I looked down to see the day-glo green disc lock reminder cable waving about on the floor with my disc lock still around my rear (force of habit - at home I wrap the chain around the front and put the disc lock on the rear) disc.
I lob the bike onto its stand, and take the disc lock off, to discover that the chain tensioning bolt is now bent at 45 degrees towards the grount , so I've now got to fit another one .
Still, as the nice woman on the bandit next to me said, we all have disc lock moments. I normally stretch the cable across the seat of the bike and lock it onto the other side, but in this case it must have fallen off.

I went and got the replacement parts priced - £23 for the pair of adjuster bolt clamp thingies, plus the costs of the nuts .
Easy to fit apparently, only the back wheel has to come off . ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

Blimin eck, nasty
Allthough they are supposedly rubbish i got a grip lock..
No worse than a disk lock but easyer to fit and no chance of mashing up your bike when you try rideing off with the lock in place!
Nearly did it with a chain on my cg, spokes + big fookin chain would have made a mess ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

You're lucky you didn't smash the calliper casting.
These days I have mostly been putting a bungee round the brake lever when I fit the disc lock which prevents me moving the bike at all. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
