If you can find a bare alloy part, polish it. Wink It'll keep you busy and you'll not get fat, using all that elbow grease keeping it shiney.

Done the pipes, yokes or bars yet? Smile

I ordered a carbon yoke protector but doesn't look like i'm gonna get it so I will probally do yoke soon. Bars are all hidden so not worth doing and the pipes are stainless.

It'll all end in tears...exactly the day after you first ride it having polished everything then look in the garage and see it is all back to how it was.

You will cry even more when you realise that now you have polished it all, you are going to have to keep doing so for the rest of the time you own the bike. It will spoil your life, you will have to spend at least a full afternoon every weekend polishing bits and will avoid taking the bike out on the principle that it will need a lot of cleaning when you get back.

Take my advice, clart the whole thing with oily muck then ride it as much as you can. It will be worth damn all in three years anyway, polished or not.

The swinger and frame has been polished for months, I'm not fussed about dirt as I only clean it when I'm going anywhere the bike will be seen. Wink

If you're talking about the exhausts going purple/ orange/ rainbow coloured when they get hot, there's only one solution: don't let them get hot. Wink

Else, B&Q's finest barbecue black would always work. Smile

I have to say though (in my opinion) , that lid is feckin awful Very Happy You must be a nightmare to follow on a sunny day Cool

I, for one, would never polish any alloy on my bike, I keep it clean-ish and maintained but that's all. Life's too short, I get little enough time to ride the damn thing, without having to polish it as well.

Cheers

Grim

I get tonnes of time to ride, so much so I can't afford the £50 a week petrol bills so I mayswell spend some of that time polishing. Wink
