Ive got an rs125 and although I can do stuff like changing brake pads, stuff like rebuilds is beyond me.

Im having some stuff fixed up on my bike and its probably gonna cost more than i want it to.

At some point I am gonna pass my test and get a big bike. I want to know what bikes are reliable with low bills if anything does need to be done.

I wouldnt want anything too new as i dont wanna lose on depreciation. The most Id spend on a bike wd be £3000.

Without knowing about maintenance I have thought about sv650, fazer, thunder cat and a combo of 400 scooter + rs250 or rgv250 for occasional weekend use.

Fazers are ace, read my recent post on the subject.... Wink

But, something more akin to a GS would be ideal, there are so many of them in breakers that spares are dirt cheap. Plenty of bikes on the roads means that pattern parts are readily available as well.

But, if you're considering commuter hacks look at the ER-5, GPZ-500, and the numerous others.
