I really thought I wasn't bothered by gore but I glimped at it for a few seconds and just can't look at it.......all I saw was a mass of red blood....*scarred for life*

The consensus it's definitely not motorbike related.

Possibly some small explosive device (american banger etc) exploded around the mouth - though the tounge looks a bit too intact.

I believe it is however generally considered to be a fake.

Thats a pic of a US marine engineer who thought he'd be clever and hold a detonator i his teeth whilst working with explosives.

wouldn't you die straight away from such an injury? how would you stop all the blood flowing around your mouth and nose and just squirting out? Doesn't seem possible to me....

Any proof of this?

I've seen quite a few definitive answers.
They all agree on an explosive in the mouth.

Others point out things like the colour of the eyes, which they suggest means that it's a fake.

He seems a little too relaxed for it to be real. Not exactly a time to pose for a photo, he'd be in agony if it was real.

I agree with zx-denis-6r, you'd die straight away.

Definitely a fake.

The shadows are all wrong and he looks superimposed onto that background. Specially if you compare the lighting. Lack of blood on him as well and something that serious, I wouldn't have expected that it be treated in your average cubical, take note of the surroundings.

Would be quite a challenge anaesthetising a guy with a face like that - he's probably still sat upright because his airway would likely obstruct if he laid down.

And to whoever said he looked too calm, you're good at reading facial expressions!
