Think there was a similar thread to this awhile ago. Someone said that it would not work well due to the web cams poor refresh rate. So unless you have a very very good cam I cannot see it coming out well.

I also want to do what you want but im trying to save for a proper digi cam. I have a bog standared 60 quid digi cam at the moment, and that takes ok vids but no great quality.

It has been done before (Kev did it a few years ago), results weren't nearly as good as a proper DV cam.

buy a cheap old camcorder(£50 on ebay at a guess), tape your journey and then transfer the video from the camera to the pc using a video card

Hi,

I have an old Sony Hi8 HandyCam. If i wanted to record journeys how would i go about this on a scooter? Some people use 'bullet cams' I dont know what this is Embarassed Is it like a little camera that plugs into the main camera so you can mount it in better places?

Sorry to butt in on your thread Wink

I was hoping to use it to inspire non-bikers - including showing them that even the boring route to work can be fun. Thumbs Up

We have a digital video recorder, and Grim purchased a tank tripod. All secured on the tank and off we go. He also had to purchase a clear screen, so that the camera could look at where he was going. It was great fun watching his journey, and the speeds etc (all above board I promise! Wink ) and also taping your mates in front of you... some of those dodgy overtakes can really make for a good laugh and piss taking moments!

Have a look on ebay for a tank mounting tripod, and see what you can get - i am sure that there are places that still sell them.

All I need now is a new DV card to out it on the PC as the old one has gone tits up. When I actually have some money, I'll trundle off to Ebay. I believe Pinnacle are the ones to go for.

Cheers

Grim
