Earlier, the number plate hanger on my bike melted so it got sucked up underneath the bike by the rear tyre. Wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have a full HCR attached. Oil all over the tyre and a tyre shaped groove on my number plate. Bolted a big metal bracket in to the plastic to stop it happening.

Later today.....

Very lost on country lanes looking for M1 salvage yard my bike decides to spew very hot coolant over my leg. This freaked me out since I have no idea what the consequences of not having any are.
+ The fan switch appears to have broke at the same time.

When I put the fan to earth it switches on but I can't figure out where the fault is or why the switch would have broken.

Still, couldn't have happened on a nicer day Very Happy .

Your fan probably has a broken switch, they tend to live inside the radiator, screw in, easy 10minute job (assumeign your doing the coolant anyway) not all but allot do, what bike is it?

Personally i'd fit a normal switch on/off, or just leave it on over summer...

The spewing coolant could be down to a pressure leak, drop in pressure/not enough pressure the coolant will boil, spraying it wherever (i'd shat myself too i think!) might be worth checking the filler cap, all the hoses e.t.c. not expensive and will eliminate them as a cause...

Is the thermostat working like it should?

Don't know how anyone can ride without a temp guage on a watercooled bike Shocked

35degrees outside and siting on a hot twin faring aiming the 90degree oven like heat right back up at me (wearing the same gear i wear in winter)

Looking forward to winter now....
