PostPosted: 17:58 - 14 Jul 2005    Post subject: Equity Red Star Reply with quote

I've been looking around for quotes on the MZ, so far Equity Red Star have been consistently the cheapest, just £200 TPO compared to 300+ from others. I can't seem to find a quote source that will give me an idea of TPFT from ERS though, anyone know where I can get one? Are they an actual insurance company with an online site or do they quote through brokers?

Any help would be appreciated Mr. Green

Equity Red Star are an actual insurance company. Plenty of your online quotes will be for a policy with them.

All the best

A real insurance company, so your quotes will be through a broker.

I've had a couple of policies with them, both brokered through clickquote.com. No complaints.

You can get quotes from ERS via directchoice.com, that's the broker that I use Thumbs Up

I beleive ERS are a sub-division of Norwich Union.

Hope this helps.

Yep, Equity are the insurance company. We cover their breakdown work for them. They're one of the few insurance companies that I can't recommend enough in view of their customer relations.

They can't do enough for them, and never quibble on recovery fees that we charge.

Although I suppose it's two different aspects of their company it does give you an indication on what they would be like to deal with.

I've been getting some sample quotes for post-test bikes through the Bennetts website, most of which come from ERS.

I have my insurance through equity red star via directchoice.com

They were very cheap for me. I'm 23 with 0 ncb and for a 125 it was only £140 tpft, which I though was very good. They told me what it will be when I have 1 year ncb they said it would be about £95 for the year

Think twice about these insurers, there cheap because "There Cheap!"

Ive had a claim with them for a while now and they are terrible. The take ages to respond to any corispondance. Have more excuses than you can possibly imagine to slow claims down and seems to me they just do not want to pay out.

All this is the last thing you need when you are making a claim. I would advise to steer clear.

ERS through Direct Choice were consistently cheapest across the board, for the renewal too for me. Direct Choice are brokers, trading under a whole host of names, ERS are the insurer, underwritten by Lloyds (who underwrote the insurance for the Titanic, and have been doing naval insurance for yonks).
