Has anyone ever heard of someone using an outboard-mounted headlight with race bodywork? Extra points if it's legal. Just curious.

Used one mounted behind a small cut out in the bodywork.

First one had a wooden bracket. Second one had a bracket made from some old computer case.

Neither would have passed scrutiny by the police (which the second one was subjected too. Confused )

Hi

Seen it done. Suspect the legaility would depend on the markings on the headlight. Suspect you would need a DOT legal headlight, and while you might normally get away with this having one mount in an obviously non standard fashion would attract attention.

All the best

Keith

I was thinking something mounted just below the forward-most tip of the front faring, tucked under slightly. Maybe even removable. I'll be keeping my eyes open for something, otherwise I'll just have to be without. Hmm...maybe a bodged foglight from the local auto parts store might work...

I was looking at that sort of thing first, but ended up going for cutting a small hole. I used a for light the first time.
