I've been looking for a cosmetically challenged or mildly damaged bike to play with (trx please Smile ) but anything would do.

Now I've been to a few breakers and they look like I've asked for tartan paint. Surely there are places where you can get very scruffy/light damage bikes?

Have you tried the back of MCN or Biketrader perhaps?

Biketrader's usually your best bet from breakers.

But I'd look through adtrader, loot etc - remember a breaker's going to still want to be making quite a few hundred profit if they're selling a whole bike complete.

It sounds terrible to say it, but buying bikes from people who've crashed them is a good way to get bikes.

They're obviously disheartened by bikes and may want to be rid of it, and are generally not too bothered by the value.

Sadly the bike my father bought was because the seller's son had just received substantial brain injuries in a bike accident and was getting out of bikes.

eBay might be a good place aswell.
Although I once heard a phrase "you can sell anything on eBay, as long as it's broken".
