tips for a2

Hi guys, im going to do my a2 restricted license next month and wanted to know a few things before i do it.

1. when going straight over on a mini/small roundabout should you look over your left shoulder when pulling out then over your right shoulder when slightly going round the island then again over your left should when going straight again?

2. When your coming to a junction and you want to turn left, do you do a left lifesaver before you get into the left side of the road then do a left lifesaver when pulling out again?

3. when at traffic lights going straight on you should do a shoulder check in your blind spot yes?

Also how much do they look at your road positioning because i normally just stay in the centre of the road unless im behind a van or lorry then i go to the right side of my lane, are they that bothered about it as long as you do shoulder checks or life savers when necessary?

at traffic lights mirror checks and right life saver when setting off

at mini roundabout right life saver then left as you come off the roundabout

coming to junction left mirror check, indicate ,left life saver ,position for the turn. left mirror check before turn look to the right and then to the left as you turn

i.e dont keep looking to the right when you have turned

i think thats correct

it does depend on the instructor on how you are taught though

where i did my training no left life saver is used when turning left only a mirror check and this was accepted by the examiner.

I dont think you need todo a life saver when going straight on at traffic lights only when turning.

TBH this is why you should do a couple of hours training because the instructor will be able to give you the correct info.

well that got me through my test anyways. i was told to go for it after one hrs tuition! Shocked

but i had a yrs experience riding before tho

mirror checks and right shoulder check before pulling away when stationary from traffic lights.

mirror checks when approaching traffic lights.
