My wheels need painting/powdercoating. Does anybody know of a place who does it, and does it at a good price?

I have been quoted £55 per tyre-less, paint-less wheel. Surely I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks in advance

Ash

Not best doing this in your local region section? Just a thoughts, since sending off wheels would be rather expensive. Rolling Eyes Confused

A local place to me does them for £30 a wheel, which involves taking off and putting the tyre back on. But being in glasgow, thats not much use for you....is it? Confused Thumbs Up

Yeah 55 a wheel seems a lot. Like Stiggy, theres a few places around here that do it 30 per wheel. I'm getting the RD wheels powder coated white when I have enough time as I'm working now. If you search around, use yellow pages, I'm sure you'll come across a cheaper place.

Hi

Be careful as many commercial places will use a finish that, although providing a long lasting protective coat, will go matt and look shit in a year or 2.

Stick with one who deals with bike and classic car stuff on a regular basis. The one I have used is https://www.redditchshotblasting.co.uk/ , bit not for wheels (they did the Bandit frame).

Seen these people as well - https://www.central-wheel.co.uk/tyres/alloywheelrefurb.html - but their prices have gone up. However £70 a wheel is probably a better deal than your £55 if it includes removing the tyres and replacing the bearings with new ones.

All the best

Keith

Aerocote are bloody good. look on their website. i cant remember it off heart but you are bound to find it.

they done my brothers RS125 wheels candy blue. was an absolutly amazing finish and was only £45 each wheel (due to a mistake in the costing i think Mr. Green )
