What are super moto’s for example 600cc and upwards like in all weathers and conditions?
I do a little bit of motorway mileage, mostly commuting and blasting around the place.
I am interested but wanted to know what it’s like owning one all year round.

Cheers

That rules out a 'proper' Supermoto - ie a highly tuned nutter bike.

I've only owned mine since the turn of the year but i rode from Feb til now.
If you fit racing wets then they're ace in the rain and snow. Dunno what a sports bike would be like in the snow with wets but i've been caught in 6" of snow about half a dozen times with normal tyres and it ain't too clever Laughing
You get very wet in the rain as you don't have any fairing protection Thumbs Down
Depending on what make of bike you get and how highly strung it is, your gonne have to service it more often than a sports bike(just oil and filter change usually).
I've done about 6000kms on mine without missing a beat, only needed oil, filter cleaning and tyres.......until yesterday that was when the clutch pushrod evaporated Confused
The problem i've had is that only having a supermoto meant that when riding with sports bikes you have to wring its neck constantly to keep up. My bike is fit for 138mph when i fit the road sprockets but cruising at 100mph i imagine will have caused a fair amount of engine wear. When sat on the A9 (which is the nearest there is to a motorway around here) it feels like your gonna blow it up, almost like a two stroke.
If you have a sports bike aswell (which i do now, if you can call a 1987 FZR750 a sports bike) then they're great toys but wouldn't want to own on as an only bike again Thumbs Down

maybe not a supermoto as such, but a bike which would do as you want very well is Yamaha's TDM 850 and 900 models....

Ducati Multistradas are proving really popular around here and are causing a bit of a stir with sports bike riders Shocked
Maybe alot to do with the fact that the boys who are riding them are bloody good riders but they seem to handle the scottish bumpy twisties really well Thumbs Up

Styling is questionable though Laughing
