If you want to buy the best looking bike, then buy the one /you/ like the look of the best.

Personally I think a tatty bike with loads of crash damage looks a whole load better than one that's spent most of it's life being polished and having anodised items added.

Skippy recommends the Bushkwacker 250. Eats up tumbleweed better than a dingo on heat...

Joking aside this is predominantly a UK based forum cobber so this response might be the most sensible you'll get Wink

What you doing with it?

You sticking to highways or going on a lot of dirt roads? Distance riding or short blasts for the weekend?

You should have access to all manner of insane Japanese exotica over there. They made all manner of 250 versions of their bigger bikes.

I suppose the Aprillia RS250 is the closest thing to an R6 in the 250 class, and they look sexy as hell. Probably give most 600s a run for their money on a twisty road too. Don't know if they are available in Australia though. Be warned, they bite!

i think you get the kawasaki ninja 250/ gpx 250 over there right? not an R1 but slightly sporty looking....

don't think you're allowed 2 strokes on the road down under? is there a power restriction on an australian 250cc license or are you allowed to ride any 250?

I think Honda CBR250s are popular in Australia.
Good little screamers, in line 4, 4 stroke.

RS250. Drooling

Of course, if they're a bit too expensive or not to your liking, theres a few alternatives. Something like an RGV250 would do the trick. A little older, but the same engine is also used in the RS, still look lovely and can be picked up a fair bit cheaper due to their age.

If your not a 2 stroke person, theres a few alternatives such as the FZR 250 / CBR 250. Both great little machines.

All depends on what sort of budget you have and what the bike will be used for, as StinkWheel said. Thumbs Up

The Kawasaki KR-1S were sold in large numbers and are very popular in Australia. and are also the fastest 250cc road bike at 146mph with the right gearing.

The BEST 250cc avaliable in Australia is the Kawasaki EN 250 Eliminator.... I wanted one but its not avaliable here!!! This is a seriously nice bike, especially with the V-Twin and blacked out wheels!

a ZZR250 would be a great bike to have in the outback and for long distance riding. comfort + a very high tank range (l think mine did 200 miles on a tank)

Trying to work out if that was real. The twin cans suggest not.

The ZXR250 was sold as a zx2r in some regions I believe.

Hey Meziko, finally another Aussie Very Happy .
As the guys have mentioned there is a huge range of bikes available here in Aus and the best way for you to decide is to get out and have a look at a few of em.
Not sure where you are located but this website might help you out. www.Sumoto.com.au This guy is in Vic and only does 250s. He currently has 174 of them listed for sale. Sure you may not end up buying one off him but by trawling through the pages you will get a fair idea of whats around. Also I recommend the "Motorcycle trader" magazine ....$4.50 at your newsagent. cant go wrong. You'll also find a handy tip in it from time to time as well.

Maybe it was avaliable and they've discontinued it. It Happened to the Kawasaki Eliminator 125 in 2000.
