I used MCN the other week to sell my bike with no probs. Remember to put 'no canvassers' on the advert!

Try the local paper, newsagent/local shop window (but I'd only do this if bike is not 'on show' in the street). Write details on one of those cards you see with stuff for sale in the supermarkets.

Would have suggested owners club site but you already said that.

Other than that whan you park it up (making sure locked to something solid Wink) or go to bike meets and put 'For Sale' notice on it with a contact phone number.

Have a ride out to Squires at Sherbourn and stick it on the for sale noticeboard there.

Just some thoughts Thumbs Up

I sold 2 bikes through Bike Trader. No probs. However, I made the mistake of not putting "No Canvassers" on the advert and the amount of sodding sales calls I got was amazing. Mad

Sorry, from Trixie's post I assume a Canvasser is a sales man, and why're they bad? If they'll buy the bike, then what's the problem? :S

(I've never sold a bike, I've always wrecked them Doh! )

You're sort of right - the cavassers are teams of sales people working for magazines that want you to pay lots of money to them to advertise in their rag instead of the one you're currently advertising in.

After so many calls I got to know whether the call was cavass or not. The usual conversation was something along the lines of:

Me: "Is this a sales call?"
Caller: "Erm...yes" (the directness normally unseats them a bit!)
Me: "OK, I'm not interested. I'd be grateful if you could please remove all my details from your database immediately"
Caller: "Erm...ok"

I was very direct, but not rude, that's reserved for the cocky ones who think they can get round you! Twisted Evil
