CG125 wont run idle!!

Hi, Ive finally got my (brand new) CG125 to start up, but it doesnt want to run idle - as soon as I let go of the throttle, the engine dies - I therefore have to keep my hand on the throttle all the time so it doesnt die on me.

Ive tried keeping the revs high for a few minutes to get it warm, and have messed about a little bit with the choke (fully open, then I tried messing with the screw at the otherside, but I dont wanna mess with it too much cos I dont know what Im doing)

Anybody know what the problem could be, and how I could fix it??

on my old cg i had a similar problem.
It turned out to be the lid of the airbox was loose, so it wouldnt sit idle.
As soon as you opened the throttle it sucked the lid on properly and all was ok.
Couple of screws and it was all sorted Very Happy

I gave it a ride around for a mile or so this morning, then it seemed to sort itself out - hopefully it was only like this cos its been sitting around outside for a few weeks. I will have a look at the airbox lid tho - cheers Very Happy

i have a 2004 model, you have to start these babies with the choke half way up, give it a few revs and let is sit for a minute beofre you head off anywhere, but, you always need the choke half way up to start it, regardless of the weather, even if you are going for a spin on your bike and you leave the engine off for an hour, you have to use the same procedure before you go anywhere...........

mine has never let me down............

but...

there was one occasion, i left it outside the recreation centre and went for a jog...came back and started her , left her a minute and headed off........then she died turning a corner and i couldn't get it started again.......i was clueless......nothing i did would work...i was thikning "so much for reliable the honda cg125" ...anyway...after half an hour trying i finally sussed out that the fuel switch was turned off.........hahahahahahah...you learn something every day.........eh.....??[/b]

Hahaha I've done that on my 2001 CG125 this morning! Managed to get quite a distance with no fuel as well! Smile

when i had me rs125 i once forgot to turn the fuel on.
If anyone knows stafford, i was parked on the car park in south walls (behind bagnalls), rode away and the bike cut out, whilst i was in the middle of crossing over onto the 'ASDA' roundabout, scared the shit outta me as it was about 5.10pm and that part of town gets really congested at peak times.
