Evening all,
I had to drop off something in Hereford today and even though the weather looked dicey, I decided to take the bike. Got to Hereford, did what I needed to do and then left.
I can't say I particularly enjoyed the trip dow there and found the trip back just as boring, spending most of my riding time thinking that I just wanted to get home. Made a detour to Sainburys in Solihull to get dinner and found that it was shut. *sigh*. Start heading home via Catherine de Barnes and find a queue of traffic travelling at 30mph through a 40 zone. So now I am bored, hungry and getting irritated, which is not a great combination.
Cue me overtaking the traffic rather briskly, get to the next roundabout and spot a GSX-R600 going around with the rider's knee just off the ground. Bollocks to it I think, there is nothing / no one for me at home, so I might as well join him. He spotted me and we spent the next half hour tearing around roundabouts, trying to get our knees down and generally annoying car drivers. At the end of which we pulled into a lay-by and had a chat about bikes, cops and trying to get your knee down. I left with a grin on my face.
So what's the point to this drivel ? Well normally if I spot another rider going in my direction then I try to catch up to them and ride with them for as long as they are heading my way. However up until now almost all of these riders have ignored me. So next time you are out riding and find that someone is tagging along, try to acknowledge the fact that they are even there. Even better if you have the time, acknowledge they are there and have a little play.
You never know but these little things may just brighten up someone else's day ! |
