Hi,

I want to derestrict my Honda CG125 BR, I've been told that it's just a matter of taking a couple of washers out?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Lee

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the CG125 was never restricted in the first place. The 60 odd mph from 11 or so hp is all you get, as it is a four stroke 125 and will not make more than the legal power limit.

'Washers' are commonly used to restrict bikes which make more than the 14 or 33 bhp limits, by limiting the airflow through the carburettors. As such, they're often easy to remove.

Thanks for your help, at least I know now, but is there anything I can do to get that extra little power, even if it brings it up to the legal limit to a 'Legal Learner' ??

Didnt the ones from this era have slightly bigger carbs and produce 16bhp?

Nope. That was the CB125 twin. Even the single cylinder CB125S (overhead cam engine) only made 15hp at most.

The 12hp restrictions came in during the very early 1980s.

All the best

Keith
