Selling bike without new owners present

Someone interested in my bike says he would have to get someone to collect it for him (one of these motorcycle collection people on ebay).

What do i do with the V5?

Is he/she asking to overpay by cheque and you forward the balance?

me mate had to do this when he bought his rs125 off ebay ( was located in the shetland islands), he payed by cheque, posted it off a week or so before the motorcycle couriers collected the bike, the seller filled in the logbook, and posted it off to the dvla and gave the company the small 'new keeper supplement' to give to him.

what about the signiture?

No he doesnt want me to foward the balance he cant ride it yet so need a van to collect it.

Doesn't matter who signs it. As long as it has been signed, and you have the name and address of the person buying it.

Make sure you give them a receipt and keep a copy for yourself with their signature on too, you could even put on there who its being collected by, then let them sign it.

Dont take a cheque or even a bankers draft. Make sure the money is in your hand or in your account before the bike goes, its 2005, bank transfers can be done in a matter of minutes.

The DVLA don't give a monkeys what the signature looks like. They probably won't care if it wasn't signed by the new keeper. They have been know to change the Frame number around on two of my friend's V5s without them asking to (like one digit in the wrong place).

the dvla could'nt give a flying fuck who signs the logbook.
When i have sold my rs125 and before that my adly 50, i was at work and me dad just signed them for me, never had a problem
