 |
|
Hi folks,
After seeing that video (vid forum) of the police guys doing huge lean angles at 5mph, and ridiculously fast U-Turns, and a few other similar videos, Im interested in improving my skills at low speeds.
Is body position etc the same? Anybody on this forum good at doing that kind of riding?
I often go up to the local carpark and blat around at low speed but every now and then nearly drop it when the front end suddenly feels like it moved a few inches. Its also bloody scary (but thrilling) changing direction quickly at low speed, feels like if you could drop it real easy.
Any tips?
I found setting my idle speed higher than normal (2,200rpm instead of 1,500rpm) helped a lot like. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

No tips, but you reminded me of a video someone posted of a competition of some kind with a Japanese guy riding round on an unfaired 400 (honda I think) - around a coned off, incredibly tight track. His skills were awesome
If you haven't seen that it's worth finding. And if you have, I'd appreciate a link ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

I saw a DSA bike examiner do a U-turn in a space not much wider than his bike was long. He was on a big Beamer, and ended up facing out of a corner in the carpark. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Suppose it takes a good and well functioning clutch to do this.
At least its a way of having quite good fun on the bike without any real danger; Of injury or serious damage that is.
And useful! ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

How would you stop the sudden jerk as the transmission slack is taken up/given off then? ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

So admire skills like that. Was practising U-turns in the Plymouth Argyle car park this morning and I was starting to get it tight enough to do a u-turn, with lifesaver, within the length (not the width!) of a parking space. It was loads of fun, felt like I was playing out
Does anyone know of any rider skills dvds?
