Which 250?

Hi i currently own an rs125 , im planing on taking my test soon and thinking of gettin either an RS250 or a TZR 250.

Tzr will be much cheaper to buy , just seen one going for 700 on autotrader, anyway to my point.

I am woundering what both bikes are like .ie handling , everyday use , weekend ride outs *etc* ive not ridden either of the bikes so any info is appreciated.

Which model TZR?

Haven't ridden one, but I would get the RS for more fun stuff and an older TZR for more day to day stuff.

NSR250 MC28, if you can find one. I'd by the RS (was thinking about one not too long ago) over the TZR.

im getting myself an rs250 , after riding a rs50 for 2 yeas and having a blast on an rs125 , decided i need more power than wot a 125 will b offering so defo rs250 , plus they dnt sound tinny like the 125 Wink

For day to day use, i heard that 250's were not all thta practical.

For ride outs, they are good and very fun to ride.

The running costs are a pain you need oil every mile.

Don't know about handling.

I do know they are quick on the acceleration side and top out about 120 ish (correct me if im wrong).

Out of a tzr and an rs i would by an rs.

If you do get a TZR, have a look at the later models, especially the reverse cylinder ones. They look really nice, have exhausts built in under the seat and have quite a bit of poke in them. I really like the NSR250 MC21 and MC28. Really nice bikes, and the MC28 has the added feature of card ignition, different cards for different conditions. RS250 meant to be one of the best handling bikes around. RGV250 has the same engine as the RS, but I prefer the RGV because it isn't as 'rounded' as the RS. And the KR1-S is the daddy of all 250's. Fastest road legal 250 and will leave 400 four strokes for dust.

I been eyeing that one up, he can't seem to sell it, as its been on before about 2 times. He had seized it just before he put it on this time, hence the rebuild, so I wouldn't really trust it. And it aint in great condition either. Not bad I guess if you have a reasonably large wallet.
