bastards want to charge me another £160 for my years insurance on the CBR because theyve noticed i got disq for 28's, and on the online form it states months banned....

Called me old fashioned, but 28 days is not a month, and a disqualification is no a ban. True an extra £160 wouldnt bother me /that/ much, as cancellation fees are roughly that anyway so im fucked which ever way.

Grrr... And to top it off. My CBR 600 was £740 for a years tpft at 18 with 2 years no claims and its worth £2k. Got that?
They then spot ive fiddled them (which i havent, its just their online form makes me sound like i didnt get any punishment really) alledgedly and add on a shocking £162 quid, taking it up to around £900. Still not horrific i suppose.

I then discuss as i wont be using it for pretty much a year, how much for this tatty vfr 750f (1992) im picking up for between 200-500 (depending what it needs for mot) on tpo, declare everything like a good girl. So its a 13 year old bike, 150 cc more but slow as fuck trust me, and guess the quote... same company.

£1500... ?

TPO?????

I fucking hate insurance. Fucking cretin. Absolute cretin. I hate getting bitchy with people just doing there job on the phones, but if he had said that to me face to face i couldnt imagine hed be keeping his straight. up to about £500 i can understand as the ban and cc, but 3x that? Evil or Very Mad

I mean they then said, ooooh on the quote disclaimer it states if you have been banned you have to phone your quote through.
Also alledgedly a disqualification is a ban... and 28 days is a month. If they had just fucking put this, or asked to get confirmation at the time of how i got a £50 fine and nought else from an SP30?

But oh no, and its not even like they made money from it, as the £900 (including extra fine) is still less then the lunar fees other companies want.

Any cunning plans? I want the CBR on the road in my name with my 2 years no claims until mid/late sept, then i want to switch to tpo on the VFR for a solid year (to go through the winter etc)

I cant see how i can do this without rupturing an artery...
You really can fucking see why people ride/drive illegally, ive been fucking with these dickwads for about 2 months sending in various documents.

And hell, i may as well be riding illegally as far as some of you are concerned. Christ thats a point, the vfr aint restricted (not even in the wink wink way the cbr is). Never mind. I'll walk on the wild side Rolling Eyes

Sorry guys for ranting, ive had no sleep, serious parent problems (between them i mean) and then this flaps on my doormat and i get to talk to some condescending scottish gnome telling me that actually, if you crack out the microscope you can see the disclaimers....

Here is the link for 'my' insurance comp... see if you can spot where a 28 day disqualification should magically become a 1 month ban.

Fucking ambiguous cunts

Yes i swore ALOT in that, im sure the karma bot loves me for it... but fuck it. I cant be arsed with this chicken shit today. Why cant anything pan out right

28 days is a month, a disqualification is a ban. It was stupid to think otherwise when filling the form out.

As Shaggy DA has already said.

28 Days is a month, well, in pretty much all calendars around the world anyway.

And disqualification is most definately a ban. Whether YOU think it is or not.

You lied on the initial form, I'm surprised they're not walking away from you as a customer completely. You might find it very very hard to get insurance next year because you've lied, they'll tell all the other underwriters, which might make it an interesting experience next year.

You should have realised that getting the ban was going to put your insurance up? Why lie? Should have taken the hit in the first place and then worked on getting your NCB up to offset it in the future. Rolling Eyes

Shyte mate. I hate ins too. Sorry to here you have to cough up more. (Better spent on petrol or birds I say.)
My insurers picked up the bill for my brand new two wheeler when I dropped it this year.
I paid £600 for Comp. using 1yrs NCB. The NCB's gone now and I'm now on £750 for the same machine Comp.
But I would have had to have bought myself a £7000 bike twice if I hadn't had the safety net of the cover.
I know it's a racket and we get skunked all the time.
But on the whole I think I came off better than them.
Still hate having to pay though. But if you're not in the 'fund' and protect your investment by not falling off or getting caught breaking the law it works.

I'm sure one of our 'literati' at BCF will produce some gem to contradict me.

See you all crack straight onto me for 'lying'

I just saw now point going ahahaha look look ive been to court and im on a 600 at 18 and im getting a vaguely sensible quote at them and tempting fate.
The only reason i will let them off the 28 day thing is there is a 'under a month put 1' hidden under that obnoxious question mark

But disqualification is very different to ban, or how i got described it by the sodding magistrates. Little sebaticle then back on.

Disqualification means that you are not allowed to drive, for that period. Which means that you are banned from driving. So, its a ban.

Its pretty straightforward Bonny. 28 days is a month and a disqualification is a ban.

You wanted cheap insurance, we all do, but lying on the form when you get it has come back to bite you in the arse. Hasn't it?

And how can you say 'You'll let them off'???

You're the one that has given false info on the form. They're letting you off by not removing your insurance completely.

Because as you lot point out, it looks like ive deliberately decieved them. Rather then genuinely thought... wahay i sneaked that bugger didnt i. Get this contract signed and out i go.

I am thinking of seeing if i can pay that extra money, then getting it transferred to tpo on the vfr 750 which hopefully should give me a fair bit back....

Need to put some serious time and effort into this working...
