They do two stroke tuning. www.stanstephens.com If it's a four stroke 125 then forget it.

I'd say to save the money and put it towards buying a bigger bike once you've passed your test.

riding down hills improves performance
you accelerate quicker and have a faster top speed

also 'racing' exhaust and 'racing' filter help a bit but not as much as a big hill

Stan stevens is pretty much for racers.

Although it sounds boring. The best thing you can do is save your money for a bigger bike.

There's no replacement for displacement.

Hi Darren,

I had a gilera runner sp 125 did about 75 standard then i got a bore kit 172cc & it did just under 90mph.

Front end will lift when you accelerate. It was £250 fitted. I have no complaints about it, I rekon it's the best way to mod a 125 without changine exhaust & other parts.

Thanks.

£250 for a 15 m.p.h gain? Woo-hoo Razz Seems a bit of a waste of money tbh Confused

Thing is, in reply to the original question, I'd probably do what others have said here and save ya pennies for a bigger c.c. bike. All said though, it does'nt really bother me that my RS 125 can't do more than 85 as the handling makes up for it.

well what kind of bike do you have? if its a 2 stroke restricted 125 then it probably wouldnt be too big a problem to de-restrict it. (though this would of course make it "illegal" to ride on a provisional with L plates) with a lot of 2 strokes there loads more that can be done. If its a 4 stroke however then there is a lot less than can be cost effectively done. If you post what kind of bike you have i think a more accurate answer could be given.

How to modify a 125cc engine EG make it quicker.

Adding a 175cc bore kit would make it no longer a 125cc so you would therefore be modifying a 175cc engine bike not a 125, sorry about the post i just have a thing about bore kit's.

I've got one of those (1977 KE175B). She does 85mph, and is still restricted! The piston is 1mm o/s so I suppose it's more like a 200cc Very Happy
