Hey all,

My front brake, I belive the bottom piston to be siezed. I replaced the brake pads (which ive done many times), and I rode down my road and back to check it was working it seemed fine.

But the disk was red hot, on further inspection I've noticed the piston is stuck at a certain point, so it will push the pad onto the disk but not release it properly.

I've tried for at least 2 days to get it loose, working it in and out, and also using brake fluid on the piston to free it up. Nothing.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Hi

Firstly check whether it is the piston that has seized or one of the pins the calipers slides on (assuming it is a twin piston sliding caliper).

If it is the piston and it is as bad as it sounds then you should probably strip the caliper down and clean it up, replacing the seals.

All the best

Keith
