 Posted: 18:12 - 16 Aug 2005 Post subject: CG125 - Seat Removal? |
 |
|
Hi guys,
Anyone know how to remove the seat from a 2001 CG125? I can't figure out how to! Doesn't say in the manual either!
Also, below the seat on the LHS of the bike, there is a small lock (Which my ignition key works in), this slides back a small pin about 15mm, so it's obviously not a helmet lock. What is it?
Thanks for the help,
Toby |

If you take the sidepanels off you should get a more clear idea of how it comes off, some bolt on (my 76 model did) but i'm sure my 89model had a catch, it was somewhere away from the seat though... hmmmm...
Why do you want to take the seat off? just curiosity?
Feel all arround the underside of the seat, and the back of the bike, if theres no carch its a bolt jobby, for which you'll need the panels off anyway...
On the seat originaly there would be a link that attached to the seat, the small lock held this on, so the seat can't be taken off without the key... only o mine it was the helmet lock too... got a picture of it (perhaps its been buchered in the past?) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes<

If you're lucky, it'll have a spark plug spanner. I've been making do with a 11/16" ring spanner for the past year seeing as some scrote stole my toolkit from its "steal me" box underneath the airbox. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Tiger: So turning it the other way unfastened the seat?
WTF? How are you supposed to attach a helmet to that? By the chinstrap? :S
Yeah I'll have a look, the guy that sold it to me had been riding for 20 years and the bike is absolutely immaculate so I'm hoping he has put in some goodies of his own

Old helmets were mostly D-ring type things, and didn't cost £400 so they did make allot of sense...
The caberg i've got now has a metal loop thing which i use on my elmit lock which i'll use if i'm leaveing it for a short time..
One thing it is worth haveing on a cg is a tiny can of wd40 for the spark plug... wait till it rains propperly heavy. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

hi mate, on my honda city fly I take my seat off by unlocking the lock located just above the rear light.
