Hi

Firstly have a read of the Trackday FAQ at the top of this forum.

With regard to tips for the first day. Take it at your own pace and enjoy yourself.

As it's rapidly seems to be descending into winter I'd suggest you wait to see what the weathers like, and take it easy out there, the tracks are not getting up to temperature which is lessening the grip available.

If I was in your situation I'd wait until spring time.

Another vote for 'wait til the weather's better'. IMO, with your test passed just over a month ago, you don't want t be exploring the finer points of trying to go fast on very cold tarmac quite yet.

Winter trackdays are for the foolish and the owners of tyre warmers. Or foolish owners of tyre warmers. Smile

Good call.

We'll be doing Brands pretty early in the spring I imagine, a few of us have scores to settle from the last winter trackday. Neutral

I wouldn't mind trying Snetterton...

...remind me to book in a different group though. It's safer! Wink

i vote wait till weather is better too.
A few people on this forum went on a trackday recently and more than usual crashed their bikes. They were fairly experienced so I reckon it was down to the cold.

On the other hand if you just go round really slowly, it will give you a taste for when you do a proper one when you can let rip.

I reckon trackdays shd be cheaper in the winter.

TBH the wwhole point about going on a track is to let rip so wait till the spring/summer when at least the tarmac is in your favour! Thumbs Up

Think there's a hottrax day at Snett for £49 on Feb 19th.

Cheapy, and you never know, it might just be warm. Chance for Davo to test out the tyre warmers.

Mine wasn't.

I had tyre warmers and grip coming out of my ears. I just fucked up.

That it will do.

I'll be booking the first trackday of the season for either late febuary or late march (depending on when my new bike is ready).

BTW Colinwall it was very little to do with the cold, I f**ked up as well, I had my foot leaning on the gearchange and rolled off the throttle which made the bike downchange whilst banked fully over.

Probably also caused by pushing it a little too hard.
