Faster than 99.9% of 4 wheeled vehicles out there.

In >600cc decent bikes it will be mostly down to the rider to 60mph.

If you're deciding between the two, there are a lot more important factors.

They are two very different bikes. One is lazy, upright and comes with no protection. THe other is mroe involved, more sports focused, and has protection. You need to find which bike is best for you, both will have similar 0-62 and standing quarter times. THe hornet 900 has similar power, bit more torque but is heavier. The CBR will handle better but will be more cramped for a larger rider.

well i found out just how fast in comparison my bike is to cars just the other day when i took it for a good blast... i was stunned.

my friend has a cavalier turbo running at over 300bhp and it does go pretty well.. he wanted to see how slow my bike was compared to his car Confused so i accepted.. he pulled away giving it all the berries he could, i pulled away slowly and let him get about 100metres away, within 3 or 4 seconds i was overtaking him Rolling Eyes and not slowly either, i made his car look like a cavalier expression nevermind a turbo..

so the moral of the story is, any decent 600 will rip almost anything on the road (apart from bigger bikes) Mr. Green so don't worry too much Razz

If it will beat a 600 to 100mph, It's either got a jet engine or is a seriously played about with supercar.

This maybe a very rough comparison...
https://www.geocities.jp/kasokusure/E-index.html
theres a 0-100km/h(on meter:not accurate) table below of this site

it depend on rider. There are some reversal.

CBR900RR 2.73
CBR600F 3.03
CBR600RR(oversea ver.) 3.30
Hornet900(japan ver. full powered/exhaust) 3.50
CBR600RR(japan ver.) 3.53
CBR600RR(oversea ver.) 3.63

Jet engines are very slow to get to 100mph from a standing start. A rocket engine on the other hand...

Depends if you're using the jet directly for propulsion or it's a turbine that's turning the wheels.

Thinking Hrmm, good point. Though I've never actually seen it done. No doubt many people have. I used to be round aircraft alot, so it's the first thing that comes to my head! Ta for pointing it out! Smile

Ive got a CBR600RR and the only thing that will leave you is a bigger bike!, even then they only pull alittle gap on the straights.

The big difference is the rider, a good rider will whoop you on a CB500!!!.

Car wise hahahahahahaha Twisted Evil , make em cry!

CB900 or CBR depends what you want it for, I wouldnt bother about speed, if you want to increas the 0-100 etc then you can just change the gearing.

Throttle response from a gas turbine is very poor (irrespective of whether it is driving the wheels or just pushing the vehicle forwards), and this would be very significient given the small time scales involved to get to 100mph.

All the best

From what I can see of the vids these aren't 0 to 100km. They are rolling starts. Getting off the line is the hard part.

no it doesn't it depends what it's strapped to and what the power to weight ratio is

I reckon a harrier would give any bike a run for it's money to 100mph, fastest thing I ever saw on the runway

Also have the big advantage that when they get to the timing lights (or marker board) they can just take off rather than trying to stop.

All the best

they have a massive thrust to weight ratio and with the nozzles fully back they really do go

To tell you trouth i do not know what i even want anymore Rolling Eyes .

Suzuki has nothing for me, Yamaha and Kawasaki too. I like the Honda CB900F CBR600F. It just comes to decision, which i have to order fast. Last batch for this year of CBR600F is coming and it must be reserved in advance.

So the CBR will be faster and starter? I mind the CB not having same LCD insturments like 600 version

Im not sure anymore Mad Confused Sad

I wouldn't worry about which is faster, chances are both are quicker and handle better than you can ever hope to make them. And you'll have immense fun on either of them.

Just go with the one you fancy and stop worrying about numbers.

1300 is too expenisve. Price of CB1300 + a yummy milka chocolate that i ate today cost same as GSXR110 Surprised .

I read about the new CB 1300 coming next year and i wonder will they redisign the 900 too?

It would be cool 900 had cool LCD instruments like the 600 version.

Thanks to all
