Whey-hey... I passed my test Monday morning. How I managed it I do not know, talk about in auto-pilot. I only picked up a couple of minor faults, one of those before I even sat on the bike. Some question about the chain. I kneeled down and looked at the chain, couldn't think straight, looked at him and said "What chain?" He really didn't appreciate my humour!
After I passed I shook like a leaf and it was gone 7pm when I felt calm enough to take my bandit out for the first time. A couple of mates came with me and kept an eye on me to check that I was okay. One in front and one behind so no booger could invade my bit of road space
The bike felt so weird at first. I took lessons on a CB500 and compared to the bandit it felt so different. The bandit felt so much heavier, almost kinda top heavy. Okay once I was going but at a standstill I had visions of dropping it! I didn't and I haven't as yet I'm pleased to say (Still time though lol)
Tuesday, Wednesday and Yesterday I've managed to clock up 400+ miles and my riding is getting better by the day. I'm so fortunate to live where I do. The roads are a bikers dream!
Anyway... Just thought I'd introduce myself and tell you all my good news!

hey ...well done man, i passed my test last week and bought a honda 600 cbf, it felt strange at first, i was thinking everytime i stopped, hey, this is going to fall over, but , the more miles you do the better it gets...
it is so mush easier to ride than my old cg, corners better, brakes better........in general, a far better bike to ride, although i appreciate we all have to start somewhere.
Thank you , my old cg, wherever you are..
and, the bandit is a cracker...well done again...ride safe ____________________ rockridge, rockridge...... splendid,splendid |

I joined the bandit owners club site at the same time as joining this one. It seems their forums are closed now, any idea why? ____________________ I want a big boys bike, preferably a Speed Triple. Well, I've got over a thousand miles under my butt since passing my test and I hardly notice the weight of the bike any more. Must admit though, my arm, neck and shoulder muscles are starting to bulge.
This evening, I adjusted the chain, topped up brake fluid, replaced a tail light bulb, checked the oil, adjusted tyre pressures and gave it a general "once over"
Tomorrow morning I'm gonna be going on my first "proper" journey. The bike will be loaded up with tent, sleeping bag, panniers etc and I'm off to Devon to the Beautiful Days festival. I just hope the weather holds out for me. Either way, I'm so excited I could pee. ____________________ I want a big boys bike, preferably a Speed Triple.
