Apparantly my mates coil on his RS125 has gone, and i've found I can get a 2002 coil.

Now I was wondering will it be the same as a 1997 one?

Hi

Not sure, but probably not. Depends which engine the 1997 bike has as that is around the cut off point from the 123 engine to the 122 and they had totally different ignition systems.

The older 123 engine had a blue coil (which is not just a basic coil). The newer 122 engine has a black coil (which is litterally just a coil).
