Hello all i'm new to this forum.

From south London kent.

For my 1st Bike i'm not to keen on the 125 gears & want a 400, Rvf, Vfr, Zxr, Mostly a cbr 400

Which one of these will be the best (Engine wise etc..)

What price does the cbr 400cc come at & the rest of the bikes if they are in good condition & not that old like 1988. Any good shops in s/l that do these kinds of bikes for good prices.

Much thanks

They are all very similar bikes, the condition they are in will effect how good they are.

If you want good prices, don't go to a dealer.

Personally I think you have to be more wary of dodgy bikes buying from dealers than from private sales.

would go the way of private seller as you can actually meet the guy/girl that has been 'looking after' the bike, you can pick up a lot about how it has been treated and if the previous owner is a complete mechanical nonce!
think for that price you could find something thats mechanically sound but a bit un tidy cosmetically

Bit worried about picking the bike up if i found one, as i would only of ridden the test bike with i don't think is sporty Razz

Thanks.

Very very similar.

Although i always saw the VFR as a bit more of 'comfort' style ride, and the RVF as the sportier of the three. But then the CBR is the nice balance between.
But i think thats a perception thing.

And at 400cc, its a much of a muchness.

p.s

CBr's are better Wink

Everyone's going to give a different opinion depending on what they've tried, owned, heard of, has a mate who's got one, yadda, yadda, yadda. It's a subject that is covered time and time again.

The easiest answer is find the bike that is right for you. You've already widdled it down to a small selection of the 400cc market, I'll go out and have a look at a few examples, test ride a few, see how much they cost, how difficult they are to maintain (quiz the owner/dealer), sit on some for a comfort comparison, etc.

Having owned both an NC30, Gullarm, Bandit 400 and my current RVF, the best bike of the bunch is most certainly the NC30 - for the price a good example goes for these days, the package it provides, the looks/sounds/heritage, I haven't found a better bike in this class (and many other classes as well).

Btw, the RVF is the biggest of the Hondas, followed by the NC30 - the Gullarm is absolutely tiny - even I had bent knees when sitting on it, feet flat on the floor, and I'm not exactly tall.
